General Advice - Surgery 

BLOODS

Due to the pressure Coronavirus is putting on the health care system we are having to put in place emergency measures to protect our patients and staff.

We are therefore pushing back all routine appointments where possible and appropriate. If we have identified your blood test appointment as a routine appointment we will cancel it. We will diarise calling you to reschedule once usual services have resumed. At this moment in time we anticipate this to be in 4-6 weeks time. Please also make a diary note yourself. If you have an urgent health care need please call us between 8.30-10.30am on the day of your need – we are still offering emergency appointments. These may be telephone or video if face to face appointment is not strictly necessary.

DOCTORS/NURSES/OTHER CLINIC APPOINTMENTS

  1. A routine appointment we will cancel it. We will diarise calling you to reschedule once usual services have resumed. At this moment in time we anticipate this to be in 4-6 weeks time. Please also make a diary note yourself.
  2. An appointment which could be converted to a video or telephone apt. This will now take place at the time previously agreed for your face to face appointment. For any video appointment to help the clinician you will be send a link via a text message to your mobile to support the appointment.

If you have an urgent health care need please call us between 8.30-10.30 am on the day of your need – we are still offering emergency appointments. These may be telephone or video if face to face appointment is not strictly necessary.

  • We ask you to understand that we are running restricted clinic times to reduce infection risks to you and therefore can be much less flexible than usual in the times available. Please understand that the Reception team have no control over appointments on offer, and that the clinical team is operating under significant pressure to continue to provide services in this difficult time. Our most vulnerable patients will be prioritised.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

        Repeat prescriptions can be requested through the following options:

  1. By Patient Access or the NHS App
  2. Through the letterbox at the surgery.
  3. Via email to gp.n84018@nhs.net

         You must ensure that you provide us with:

  •               Your name
  •               Your date of birth
  •               Your address
  •               The medication that you require
  •               Your nominated pharmacy- If you have not already nominated a pharmacy you must do so now. We will not be printing prescriptions. 

SAMPLES

        Samples can be left in a box in the Village Surgery reception porch Monday - Friday mornings when we are open. There will be forms provided to fill in and leave with the samples. Please ensure you fill in all the details requested as samples without the correct information on will be discarded.
